This Xi Gui Ancient-Tree Raw Pu-erh is a special small-format tea custom-made for TEAFAIRY.

In April 2026, during a tea mountain study trip I led in Yunnan, I personally visited the tea-growing region to taste and select the ancient-tree tea material at its source. Drawing on years of tea tasting, teaching, and conversations with tea lovers, we decided to make this tea a little differently—pressing each serving into a convenient 8g mini tea cake.

The tea comes from Yunnan, while its design and story continue in Seattle.

Each mini cake wrapper incorporates Seattle landmark elements, representing the beautiful city where TEAFAIRY is based and symbolizing the journey of tea from the mountains of Yunnan all the way to Seattle.

Xi Gui — Strength with Elegance

Xi Gui is located in the Bangdong tea-growing area of Lincang, Yunnan, and is known as one of the region’s distinctive Pu-erh origins.

What makes Xi Gui ancient-tree tea especially appealing is its balance between strength and refinement.

Once brewed, the liquor is bright golden in color with a lifted, expressive fragrance. Orchid-like floral notes and a gentle natural sweetness gradually emerge from the cup.

The tea has noticeable strength and body, yet the texture remains refined and smooth. Returning sweetness develops quickly, accompanied by refreshing salivation and a lingering fragrance that remains in the mouth after drinking.

As the infusions continue, its strength, fragrance, sweetness, and texture gradually come together, revealing the beautifully balanced character that makes Xi Gui so distinctive.

This was one of the most important ideas behind the design of this tea.

Traditional Pu-erh is commonly sold in full-size cakes. But for someone who is just beginning to explore Pu-erh—or simply enjoys discovering different mountains, vintages, and flavor profiles—buying a large cake every time may not be the most practical way to experience tea.

A full cake can take a long time to finish, and sometimes you may discover that a particular tea simply isn’t your preferred style.

So we wanted to make exploring Pu-erh easier.
