2026 Lao Ban Zhang Ancient-Tree Raw Pu-erh | First Spring Harvest | 100g

$168.00

This tea comes from a tea-growing family at No. 75, Lao Ban Zhang Village, Menghai, Xishuangbanna, Yunnan, and was custom-produced for TEAFAIRY.

The leaves were harvested from ancient tea trees estimated to be 250–300 years old, during the first spring harvest of 2026. Ancient-tree material is naturally limited in production and cannot be easily replicated, making high-quality batches like this especially scarce.

In April 2026, during a tea mountain study trip I led in Yunnan, I personally visited Lao Ban Zhang Village, tasted teas at origin, and selected this batch of first-spring ancient-tree material directly from the local tea-growing family before it was made into finished cakes. For me, this tea is meaningful not only for its quality, but also for its clear origin and complete journey from mountain to finished tea.

The dry leaves are thick, substantial, and well developed. Once brewed, the tea reveals a rich combination of orchid and honey aromas, with a clear and layered fragrance.

The liquor is powerful, full-bodied, and remarkably substantial in the mouth. It carries the distinct strength associated with Lao Ban Zhang, followed by a quick returning sweetness and noticeable salivation. The lingering aroma remains in the mouth long after drinking.

As the infusions continue, the tea becomes increasingly integrated, with its body, fragrance, sweetness, and strength developing greater depth and balance.

Each cake is pressed to a compact 100g size, making it convenient to store and especially suitable for tea drinkers who are learning about Pu-erh and would like to explore the character of genuine Lao Ban Zhang ancient-tree tea without committing to a larger cake.
